Stop COVID-19 in Our Community
The Future Beyond Charity (TFBC) is implementing a project named “Stop COVID-19 in Our Community” funded by the Outreach Global Group to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections among refugees (newcomers & existing), immigrants, and poverty-stricken communities across the Greater Houston area. TFBC intends to raise awareness among marginalized communities through Health literacy sessions and connect the individuals in the community to the right resources so they can benefit from the FREE COVID-19 testing and vaccination services closer to their residences. This step will improve their health, mitigate the impact, and prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections among marginalized and underserved communities.
To implement this project, TFBC holds workshop events and health fairs for the community in their apartment complexes and community clubs/centers every month. Furthermore, TFBC is also acquiring professionals in their native languages to persuade the targeted communities to seek COVID-19 testing and Vaccination services. The TFBC team also distributes COVID-19 prevention information sheets and other health education materials to help understand the importance of maintaining and ensuring physical and mental well-being.
