To become the leading nonprofit organization in providing life transforming educational, personal, and professional development services to empower refugees and immigrants in the Houston area.

Our Mission

We offer newcomers educational services to help them take responsibility for their future and escape the bonds of poverty and hopelessness. We provide academic and language education and life skills training in a caring environment that will empower them to successfully move into the mainstream of society.

Nadine Sheta Board Member
Nadine Sheta is an immigration lawyer based in Houston, Texas. After graduating South Texas College of Law, Ms. Sheta founded NS Law Firm to help people achieve their immigration goals. Her practice focuses on family-based adjustments, business immigration, and humanitarian assistance such as asylum and humanitarian parole. Ms.Sheta was born in Egypt and speaks fluent Arabic.

Christian Longue Treasure
Christian is a dual graduate in Accounting and Finance and a Program Management, with a growing passion for mental health. Christian’s involvement grew in 2008 after the realization that profit making organizations were not a good fit. His passion started in Cameroon, Africa where he lived almost all his life. He moved to the USA as a refugee and continued putting his expertise to non profit organizations and local government. “Try to be a Rainbow is someone’s Cloud” (M.A.) Motivates Chritian’s passion for service and charity.

Rasha Shammaa Board Advisory Member
Rasha is an event manager and consultant with over a decade of experience in the hospitality and healthcare industries She has been helping refugees and immigrants in Houston for 5 years. Educated in the Middle East and US, Rasha received a BA in graphic design from Rutgers University When she’s not working Rasha enjoys art, music and Nutella. She’s also a proud mom of 3 energetic boys
